A Heat Exchanger is a system used to transfer heat between two or more fluids. It can be used either in a heating or cooling process. The Heat Exchanger works as the main support system for all the other machinery on the vessel and based on the requirement, either the fluid is cooled or heated. Fluid can be in form of Liquid or Gas.
Two types of Heat Exchangers are most commonly used within the Industry as below:

- Plate Type Heat Exchanger
